Staff Profiles

KATHY BURLISON

Enrolled Agent

Yes, tax geeks do exist, even if you’ve never met one. Kathy has proudly claimed the tax geek label for 29 tax seasons. It’s embarrassing – she’ll analyze and explain the tax consequences of even the strangest situations. And she’s completely serious about it. Or is that the start of a grin? (She’s does good training, documentation, and business consulting, too.)

EILEEN BREWER

Enrolled Agent

Can you say “nonstop tax excitement?” There may be few better ways to describe Eileen. With 28 tax seasons under her belt, this former child tax prodigy marries clear explanations with fun, empathy, and a sassy no-nonsense approach to a full wide range of services

STEVE REU

Registered Tax Return Preparer

Steve hid his sly sense of humor behind a quiet and modest demeanor. We loved his intelligence and wicked attention to detail. We miss Steve and think of him often.

ASTA

Asta was the chief SmartSpot greeter until she went to chase bunnies in the afterlife on June 28, 2016. She declined all offers of an official “greeter” vest; she simply didn’t think a blue vest was stylish enough to suit her elegant presence. Asta’s gracious presence was friendly but not pushy as she shared her zen with the office. Unless she thought you had chicken. Or steak. Diagnosed with Atypical Addison’s Disease in the summer of 2014, the prednisone she relied on to supply her adrenaline made her mighty hungry. But she never forgot her manners and always said “please,” whether asking for a snack or a gentle scritch.

Hwoof, Asta, Hwoof!
